The clothes-line in Randers
From the 29th of May to the 6th of
June a clothes-line with 700 pieces of clothes was hanging between
the trees on Østervold and at the parking lot at Underværket.
I was invited to Randers by the art festival Pro Art
together with 80 other art students from the 3 academies in Denmark.
The clothes-line was very visible and gave the place
a different caracter. The private homely sphere of a clothes-line
was made monumentally big and was blended into a public space, where
you are usually not allowed to dry your clothes.
The sentences written with the clothes described the
area; the colour of the cars, peoples clothes, a seagull and so
on.
