Red room text-video
The video with white text rolling
up the black screen was a part of a work made in collaboration with
Marie Melchiorsen, Jonas Seeberg, Flemming Rolighed and Jonas Nørring,
all students at the Jutland Art Academy.

The red room was an assignment from
Dyrup. We where asked to do a work in a red house-waggon with colour
psychology as a starting point. Students from the Funen Art Academy
and the Royal Danish Art Academy did a work in a purple and a yellow
house-waggon. They where exhibited in public
squares in Århus, Odense and Copenhagen in October 2004.
Dyrups introduction on colour psychology
was a bit simple and old fashioned in my opinion. "Red makes
the blood run faster. It is stimulationg, lively and very friendly.
It can also express agresssion and control".
We wrote an introdution to the work,
trying to expand it not only to be about the effect of colours.
The effect of the general design of our surroundings also interested
us.The waggon was arranged to look like
a home. This picture shows the sofa and tv. Maries' photo album
with similar almost empty pictures is placed on the table and the
text is scrolling up the tv screen in an endless loop.
Jonas Seeberg did a minimal kitchen in cardboard.
The dining table was covered by Flemmings' home decoration magazines
with the walls of the exhibited homes heavily reworked with floating
paint. Jonas Nørring covered the red walls of the waggon
with cables and electric installations.
